Lab Intern (60-100%)

to work in our Zurich-based R&D lab in Schlieren, Switzerland


We are shooting for the moon and work on a novel breath test to detect respiratory infections at the point-of-need, where patients need it most. Our test will help to capture infections early to save lives, keep patients out of the hospital and facilitate a targeted use of drugs. Your Responsibilities

As a Lab Intern you will assist in all day-to-day lab activities, including but not limited to processing assay materials, conducting tests, preparing media, employing aseptic technique, capturing data, operating lab equipment, and maintaining lab cleanliness. You will be tasked to:

  • Prepare and process samples for diagnostic testing (PCR and microbiology)

  • Prepare buffers, reagents, media, and other chemicals for molecular biology procedures

  • Record data for R&D

  • Mange inventory and support ordering of lab materials and supplies

  • Set up and operate lab equipment

  • Maintain clean lab area, glassware, and equipment

  • Maintaining accurate and precise lab records for data analysis and traceability

  • Be part of the lab team and support other lab members conducting R&D

  • Other duties may be assigned as required and based on your skills, talent, and passion


Your Profile

To enjoy and succeed in your role, you should bring:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Work independently and carry out assigned duties effectively

  • Hands-on laboratory experience (i.e. recent graduates, students studying biology, chemistry, engineering or related life sciences people with completed laboratory apprenticeships).

  • Efficiency, productivity, attention to detail, accuracy, and organization

  • Ability to work independently and in collaboration with teams

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to accurately maintain lab records including entering & analyzing data in spreadsheets

  • Enthusiastic about biology and R&D

  • Working knowledge of basic computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
