We are working on transforming patient lives with AveloCollect, our innovative non-invasive breath collector for pneumonia and Tuberculosis diagnosis. AveloCollect is the first non-invasive sampling device that captures pathogens from the lower respiratory tract for specific PCR detection. Your Responsibilities

AsYou will play a strategic role in driving our medical and clinical affairs initiatives, aligning medical insights with business objectives, and fostering partnerships with key stakeholders. Your work will directly influence our product development and commercialization, addressing unmet clinical needs and bringing our AveloCollect device to market. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and oversee the clinical development of the AveloCollect breath collection product line based on medical needs

  • Aligning the clinical roadmap with strategic business and company goals

  • Identify, engage, and nurture strong relationships with clinical key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, researchers, and other key stakeholders

  • Identify and secure strategic partnerships with hospitals, molecular diagnostic companies and clinical laboratories , leveraging clinical insights for company growth

  • Ensure effective communication of scientific and medical aspects to internal and external stakeholders including representation of Avelo at industry events & conferences

  • Contribute to the development of educational materials/scientific communication, publications, and clinical presentations to support market launch, product positioning and awareness

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to provide medical insights and guidance throughout the product lifecycle including close collaboration with our regulatory affairs/quality manager

  • Manage projects and ensure project deliverables, budgets, quality targets and timelines are met. This includes projects and multi-center studies as part of large international research grants in Europe and low-and middle income countries

  • Contribute to the long-term vision and strategy of the company, with the potential to evolve into the role of Chief Medical Officer based on performance and demonstrated leadership

  • Assume different roles and grow into new areas and/or leadership role as needed

Your Profile

As a “hands-on self-starter” you offer the full package including:

  • 5+ years clinical/medical affairs experience in healthcare, preferably respiratory infectious diseases and in-vitro diagnostics, MD is a strong plus

  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clinical key opinion leaders and relevant stakeholders, and a pre-established network within the medical community in respiratory infections or pulmonology

  • In-depth understanding of clinical research including designing and conducting studies, regulatory requirements, and medical/scientific knowledge pertaining to acute respiratory infections

  • Strong business acumen, demonstrated through successful business development initiatives and negotiations with strategic partners

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and convey medical information effectively in English and German to both scientific and non-scientific audiences

  • Proven ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines, to lead people and projects and to multi-task effectively

  • Excited to join a startup as a team player with strong “can do” attitude and interpersonal skills. Enjoys building long-lasting relationships with stakeholders at various levels and bringing innovative products successfully to market
